The Battery That Keeps Going and Going...

Researchers at Stanford have developed a nanowire battery that produces 10 times more electricity than existing lithium-ion batteries used in laptops, iPods, cell phones, etc. On a practical level, this means that a laptop that currently runs for 3 hours on a battery could run for 30 hours. That would be great for trips! I might not have to pack 5 different chargers for all my electronic devices. I wonder when these batteries will be mass produced for the public. I also wonder if the same technology can be used for electric cars. I can totally picture Rob modifying a hybrid car now. He has already been plotting off and on over the last year.
