Red, White & Boom

We took our kayaks on the Scioto River to watch the 4th of July fireworks. This has become one of our favorite annual traditions.

Tim, Ness and me with our glow sticks.

Rob and me waiting for the show to start.

Here's the scene on the river. We were so close that at one point, a glowing ember from the fireworks landed on the front of my kayak. Another one hit Dan's arm.

Our view of the fireworks with the Columbus skyline in the background.

This is the "before" photo of our friend, Dan. Notice that he's dry. Hours after this picture was taken, just after the fireworks ended and we were heading back up the river, Dan's kayak tipped, spilling him into the disgusting water of the Scioto. It was an entertaining end to the night.
